“Roki” gives us a glimpse of the reality of many Roma children in the Balkans. The documentary focuses on an excitable young rascal living with his grandparents and surrounded by friends in a Roma neighbourhood. Roki’s life is colorful and yet empty.
As his grandparents muse over his playful activities and their desire for him to attend school; his meeting with the headmaster shows the stark contrast between Roki’s existence and societal norms.
