Rocking out for Rwanda

Tonight, Jan. 28, at 9:30,  Mitrovica Rock School is holding a free benefit concert for Musicians without Borders in Rwanda at Mitrovica’s Youth Center and Rock School. The show includes performances from Dejan Pavicevic, Na Dlanu (Sandra and Ivana Dobric), Jelana Zafirovic, and Emir and Milan Kabašić.

Established in 2008, the Mitrovica Rock School has worked with 250 young Serb and Albanian musicians on both sides of the city’s Ibar River. Because of the tense situation there, the school has branches in north and south Mitrovica. But each year, the students come together for a summer school in Skopje.

Musicians Without Borders works on music projects in post-conflict areas. They have projects all over the world, including in Kosovo, Rwanda, Uganda, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Palestine.
